Eva Morgan Sides

GOLD HILL - Eva Morgan Sides, 90, of Gold Hill, passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.

Eva was born Aug. 9, 1917, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Charlie Morgan and Fannie Morgan Morgan. Educated in the Rowan County schools, she was a life member of East Corinth Baptist Church, member of the Choir, was WMU Director, G.A. Director, Sunday School teacher, a member of Union Good Timers, Rockwell Happy Knitters, Liberty Homemakers and had worked for Cannon Mills and Norman Drapery.

In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Faye Sides, in March 1958; and brothers Coy Morgan, Gilmer Morgan, Felix Morgan, Reather Morgan and Fred Morgan.

Survivors include husband John Irven Sides, whom she married July 30, 1947; sons John C. Sides and wife Barbara Shepherd Sides of Richfield and Albert R. Sides of Salisbury; sisters Freda Brittain of Salisbury and Beatrice Goodman of Gold Hill; grandchildren Brian Sides and Tracy Sides; great-grandchild Tiffany Hind; and lots of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.

Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at East Corinth Baptist Church, Gold Hill, conducted by Rev. Johnny Daniel, pastor. Mrs. Sides will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the Funeral Service. Burial in the church cemetery.

Memorials: East Corinth Baptist Church, Building Fund, 12510 Stokes Ferry Road.
