Ruth Sides Carter
Mrs. Ruth Sides Carter, 90, of Rockwell died Friday July 27, 2007 at The Meadows of Rockwell. Mrs. Carter was born on July 28, 1916 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Julian Henry Sides and Cora Belle Trexler Sides. Ruth attended Rockwell High School, and worked Rowan Mill for 34 years, and Rowan Industries for 18 years until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, where she was a charter member of The Young At Heart Club, and a member of WELCA.
Mrs. Carter is preceded in death by her first husband Curtis Poole in 1967, her second husband Quiller Carter in 1998, a brother Earl Sides, and sisters Lucille Poole and Vera Holshouser.
Survivors include sister Pearl S. Barringer of Rockwell, 4 nieces and 3 nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday at St. James Lutheran Church, Rockwell with the Rev. Craig Sigmon, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow at St. Matthews Lutheran Church Cemetery, Salisbury.
Visitation will be on Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at St. James Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 486, Rockwell, NC 28138.
