Lois Peeler Gulledge

KANNAPOLIS - Lois Ruth Naomi Peeler Gulledge, 81, of 6225 Bismark Ave., Kannapolis, died Friday, August 17, 2007 at her home, after five years of illness.

Mrs. Gulledge was born June 24, 1926 in Rowan County, to the late Gurney R. Peeler Sr., and the late Lola Ruth Bassinger Peeler. She was educated in the Rowan County schools and was Manager of the Family Dollar store of Kannapolis, retiring in 1986. She was a faithful member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Enochville, also a member of the Women's Guild of the church. Lois was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Lois is survived by her husband Lonnie Gulledge, son Lonnie W. Gulledge and wife Darlene of Waynesboro, Pa., daughters Connie Shields and husband Lesley of Mountain City, Tenn., Becky R. Bost and husband Delane of Salisbury, Dianne Dease and husband Bobby of Kannapolis, bother Gurney R. Peeler Jr., and wife Pam of Wilmington, sisters Shirley Rhinehardt of Granite Quarry and Nell Poole and husband James of Salisbury. Also grandchildren Junior Bost and wife Robin, Lonnie Pless, Brittany Bost, Vernon Lee Barton and Christy Barton, great grandchildren Ciji Fisher and husband Casey and Lauren Rae Bost.

Visitation: 6-8 pm tonight at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis. At other times, the family will be at the home.

Services: 2:00 pm Monday, August 20, 2007 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ with the Rev. Phred Causey and the Rev. Paul Pickler officiating.

Interment: will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

Memorials: Hospice & Palliative of Cabarrus County, or American Cancer Society.

Whitley's Funeral Home is assisting the Gulledge family.
