John Henry Agner
John Henry Agner , 78 of Salisbury, NC died Wednesday Aug. 2, 2006 at the W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born May 3, 1928 in Rowan County, son of the late Edgar Luther Agner and Letha Peeler Agner. Educated in the Rowan County Schools and Granite Quarry High School, he was a veteran of World War II serving in the Merchant Marines aboard ship. He was a member of Shiloh Reformed Church, Faith and the Spencer Moose Lodge. Mr. Agner had worked for Pepsi, Coke and Merita Bread as a truck driver, and had retired from the Owens-Illinois Box Plant after 35 years due to disability. He had also been a painter.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister; Rebecca “Becky” Agner Hinkle.
Survivors:
Wife; Norma Miller Agner whom he married March 18, 1946.
Son; Johnny Lee Agner of Faith.
Daughters; Judy Diane Pepper and Brenda Gail Brown both of Salisbury.
Sisters; Edna Agner Phillips, Chesapeak, VA, Roana Agner Bost, Salisbury.
Five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Shiloh Reformed Church Cemetery, Faith, conducted by Rev. Wayne Trexler, Interim Pastor of Shiloh Reformed Church and Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Rowan County Honor Guard.
The family will be at the residence at other times.
Memorials may be made to Shiloh Reformed Church, Faith, NC.
