Rev. James Eagle Jr.

KANNAPOLIS - Rev. James Preston Eagle, Jr., of Kannapolis and formerly of Salisbury, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 at CMC-Northeast.

Born Jan 24, 1944 in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Lela Leonard Eagle and James Preston Eagle, Sr.

He was educated in Rowan County schools and graduated from North Rowan High School and attended Tennessee Temple Bible School, Chattanooga, Tenn.

Rev. Eagle was employed for Fiber Industries and GDX Automotive. He also did supply ministry, preached and taught God's word whenever the opportunity arose.

He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Kannapolis and was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church, Salisbury where he served as a Deacon and assistant Sunday School Teacher.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Eagle.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia Ann Beattie Eagle, whom he married Aug. 31, 1963; son, David James Eagle (Lisa) of Salisbury; daughter, Lori Eagle James (Charlie) of Kannapolis; brother, Johnny Eagle (Cathy) of Salisbury; sister, Judy Benton of Gold Hill; grandchildren, Aaron James, Robert Eagle, Scarlett Eagle, Jeremy Taylor and Dylan James; great-grandchildren, Dalton Barringer, Gabriel James, Mia James, Gracie Eagle, Zoe Eagle, Emmalynn Eagle, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Services: A memorial service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at Summersett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Parker, minister of Central Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Summersett Funeral Home.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC.

The family would like to thank DaVita Dialysis of Kannapolis and Salisbury for their long term care of Rev. Eagle and his family.
