Thelma Brady Brown

SALISBURY - Thelma Brady Brown, 83, of Salisbury, died Thursday, January 31, 2008, at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem from injuries received in an auto accident.

Mrs. Brown was born on March 23, 1924, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Carrie Waller Brady. She was a 1941 graduate of Boyden High School, was a homemaker, a Life Member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, a member of St. Peter's Seasoned Saints and WELCA.

Mrs. Brown was an avid gardener, loved to can, enjoyed quilting and being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Jacob Brown, whom she married September 13, 1943.

Survivors include son Donald "Donnie" Brown and wife Fay of Concord; daughter Sandra Brown Smith and husband Edgar of Denver; sisters Lanell Roseman of Salisbury and Peggy Smith of Burlington; grandchildren Robert D. Fisher, Jr. and wife, Beth, of Monroe, Stacy F. McCoy and husband, Jason, of Troutman, Lisa Carlton and husband, Scott, of Concord and Amanda Brown of Concord; great- grandchildren Tom, Robert and Charles Fisher, Grant and Brady McCoy and Kendell and Marisa Carlton.

Visitation: The family will be at St. Peter's Lutheran Church from 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 3.

Services: Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. David Ridenhour, pastor, and Rev. Tommy Beaver. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
