SALISBURY - Jerry Ray Anderson, 63, of Salisbury, died Friday (Dec. 16, 2005) at his home after being in declining health for two years and seriously ill for two weeks.
Mr. Anderson was born June 16, 1942 in Salisbury to the late John and Kathleen Shores Anderson. He was educated in the Salisbury schools and was employed with Cannon Mills and Cone Mills before retiring due to a disability. Mr. Anderson was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Mr. Anderson is preceded in death by a wife Helen Treece Anderson on April 8, 1998.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Elliott Anderson whom he married on February 14, 2004; daughter Jan Whaley and her husband Walt Whaley, Jr. of Rockwell; step-daughter Angela Schaefer Armenteros and her husband William of Salisbury; step-son Paul Schaefer, Jr. and his wife Heather of Salisbury; sister Wanda Anderson Rainey of Salisbury; one grandchild and three step-grandchildren.
Service: 2:30 p.m. Monday at Summersett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Joel Ervin, minister of Antioch Baptist Church officiating.
Burial: Will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
Visitation: 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Monday prior to the service and at other times the family will be at the residence.
Memorials: Antioch Baptist Church, 16920 Stokes Ferry Road.
