Franklin Delmar Johnson
Pastor Franklin Delmar Johnson, 89, of Rockwell, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023.
He was born July 15, 1933 in China Grove, NC to the late Kenneth King Johnson and Jesse Burris Johnson. Franklin was a United States Navy veteran where he was a radioman on four battleships during the Korean War. He dedicated his life to serving the Lord and was the Pastor of New Haven Baptist Church for 47 years. He loved taking his grandkids camping and spending time with them.
In addition to his parents, Franklin was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Mae Holshouser Johnson; son, Franklin Delmar Johnson, Jr., great-grandchild, Lily Kiser; brothers, L.A. Johnson, Gene Johnson, Ray Johnson, Jerry Johnson and Teddy Johnson.
Franklin is survived by his wife, Wanda Johnson; four sons, Randy (Cindy) Johnson, Danny Johnson, Tim Rik Johnson and James (Kristina) Johnson; two daughters, Tammy Johnson Evans and Patty (Tony) Flowers; step-son, Kelly (Tara) Ellis; two sisters, Marlene (Clarence) Horton and Janice Higgins; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday, February 18, 2023, 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC.
A private graveside service will take place at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
