Mary Ellen Holshouser Karriker

SALISBURY - Mary Ellen Holshouser Karriker, 66, of Salisbury, went to be with the Lord Monday, Oct. 29, 2007.

Mrs. Karriker was born Nov. 16, 1940, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Clay James and Evelyn Oveda Jackson Holshouser. Educated in Rowan County schools, she retired from PPG of Lexington in 1997.

She was a member of New Haven Baptist Church and enjoyed her family and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Larry Dean, Thomas Lynn, Charles Marshall and Troy Lee Holshouser.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Hoover of Salisbury and Yvonne Hoover Templeton and husband Barry of New Bern.; six brothers, Jake Holshouser and wife Betty of Faith, Buck Holshouser of Faith, Kenneth Holshouser and wife Judy, Billy Holshouser, Terry Holshouser and wife Bonnie, all of Salisbury, Bobby Holshouser and wife Esther of Salem, Va.; three sisters, Louise Johnson and husband L.A. of Salisbury, Annie Mae Johnson and husband Delmar of Rockwell, Doris Burris of Kannapolis; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Holshouser and Frankie Holshouser of Salisbury; three grandchildren, Whitney, Caitlin and Anna Templeton of New Bern; and one great-grandchild, Madelyn Templeton of New Bern.

Service: Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at New Haven Baptist Church conducted by Rev. F.D. Johnson, pastor.

Visitation: After the Memorial service at the church.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Haven Baptist Church, P.O. Box 226, China Grove, NC 28023.
