SALISBURY - Mrs. Hazel Irene Keller Shaver, 88, of Salisbury, passed away on Aug. 26, 2014, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.
Mrs. Shaver was born on Aug. 9, 1926, daughter of the late George Clarence Keller and Minnie Sipe Keller. She is a 1943 graduate of J.W. Cannon High School and retired from Lobelien's as a supervisor/cutter.
Hazel was a member of Faith Baptist Church, the Senior Luncheon, Circle, she was a former Sunday School teacher at Luther's Lutheran and Christiana Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Shaver was a member of Rufty-Holmes Jazzercize, Silver Sneakers, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was also a member of Powles Funeral Home TLC group and Powles Funeral Home Bingo Breakfast group. Hazel was an avid camper.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shaver was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Vance "V" Shaver; and her brother, William Carl Keller.
Mrs. Shaver is survived by her brother, Ralph G. Keller and wife Mary Jo of Salisbury; sister-in-law Doris Shaver of Salisbury; brother-in-law Lee Shaver and wife Cleo of Salisbury. She is also survived by nieces and nephews David Keller, Darrell Keller and wife Tina, Judy Earnhardt and husband Mark, Bonnie Rudisill and husband John, Sam Shaver and wife Mary, Randy Shaver, Tony Shaver and wife Nash, Kathy Corriher and husband Charles, Stacey Keller and Larry Keller.
Visitation: The visitation is Friday, Aug. 29 at 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Powles Funeral Home.
Service: The service is Friday, Aug. 29 at 3 p.m. at Powles Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Joe Smith, pastor of Faith Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
Memorials: May be made to Faith Baptist Church, Building Fund, Faith, NC; or Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care, Salisbury, NC.
