Jimmy Andrew Shaver, 76, of Gold Hill passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center, Northeast, Concord.
Born April 18, 1941 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Edward and Amelia Shaver.
Mr. Shaver graduated from Rockwell High School, Class of 1959 and Pfeiffer University. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a secretary to a General.
He was employed for Sears Roebuck in Property Management and later was a Store Manager in Carteret County before retiring. After retiring he taught truck driving. He also started an animal protective group in Carteret County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Evelina Shaver and his mother-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Padgett Powlas.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sylvia Powlas Shaver, whom he married December 17, 1960 and his furbabies, Regis, Huda, Bella and Brandy.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
