Mr. Robert Lee Shaver, 80, passed away Wednesday, July 18, at his home in Salisbury.
Robert was born Jan. 11, 1938 to the late Frank and Daisy Shaver in Salisbury. Robert's beloved aunt, the late Etta Casper, assisted with raising him.
Robert was married to his beloved wife, Dollie L. Shaver, for 58 years, with whom he raised three beautiful daughters in Salisbury. Robert and Dollie have two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Their children are Goldie Chapman and her husband Jeff Chapman, Penny Shaver and Linda Bowyer and her husband Jimmy Bowyer.
Robert was a carpenter at Oakwood Homes in Richfield, for 35 years, before retiring in 2003 to spend time with his bride. He was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his precious grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his beloved dogs, Little Girl, Peanut and Maggie.
Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Albert Shaver; sister, Mary Rose Carter; grandchildren, Ashley Currin and her husband Madison Currin and Daniel Black and his wife Ashley Black; and great-grandchildren, Parker, Finley, Millie and Baker.
Visitation & Service: Friends and family members are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, July 22, from 2-3 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church. Following that, there will be a memorial service, officiated by Rev. James Joseph Black, from 3-4 p.m., also at Eastside Baptist Church.
Memorials: Memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church, 370 Trexler Rd., Salisbury, NC or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary, Salisbury, NC.
