Willie R. Pickler
Mr. Willie R. Pickler, 82 of Salisbury, NC passed away at his residence on Saturday, June 14, 2014. Mr. Pickler was born on August 11, 1931 in Rowan County son of the late Vance Alexander Pickler and Letha Stoner Pickler.
Mr. Pickler was educated in the Rowan County Schools and had retired from Cannon Mills Plant number 1 as a Fixer in 1992. He began working at Cannon Mills at the age of 14. He was also a Security Guard for P&G Security.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Miller Pickler who passed away on October 27, 2004 and son Michael Pickler.
He is survived by his son Gary Lee Pickler of Salisbury, NC, daughters Cathy Pickler Pyatte and husband David of Tennessee, Amber M. Pickler and husband Jesse of Cleveland, NC, sisters Ruby Pickler Poole of Rockwell and Ruth Pickler Shaver and husband James of Gold Hill, NC. And also by 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation: Powles Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church at 1:00 PM conducted by Rev. John Houghton, pastor and Rev. David Pyatte. Mr. Pickler will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care.
