SALISBURY - Carl Frick Kesler, 91, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Kesler was born April 5, 1916 in Rowan County, the son of the late David Marcellus Kesler and Nancy Jane Frick Kesler. Mr. Kesler was educated in the Rowan County Schools and was a Veteran, having served with the US Army during War World II. He had worked for Simpson Peacock, Swicegood Paper Company and Fiber Industries before retiring. Mr. Kesler was a member of Union Lutheran Church, Salisbury and enjoyed farming.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kesler was also preceded in death by his wife, Zena Stirewalt Kesler on March 14, 2002; brothers, Bill Kesler, Marvin Kesler and Melvin Kesler; sisters, Estella Honbarrier, Buna Lingle and Sadie Morgan.

Survivors include son, R.C. Kesler of Salisbury; daughters, Myra K. Seegers and husband Edward of Cape Carteret, Sylvia K. Grohs and husband Phillip of Rural Hall; grandson, David Grohs of Rural Hall; granddaughter, Denise Seegers of Cape Carteret and sister, Naomi Kirk of Richfield.

Visitation: 6:-7:30 p.m. Friday at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.

Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Union Lutheran Church, Salisbury, conducted by Rev. Robert Howard, Pastor. Mr. Kesler will lie in state in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.

Burial: To follow in the church cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the Rowan County Military Honor Guard and the NC Army National Guard.
