Monday, April 29, 2013 — J.D. Huneycutt, 68 years of age, of Oakboro, N.C., passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Trinity Place in Albemarle.
J.D. was born on November 19, 1944, in Cabarrus County to the late Bruce and Mary Ruth Honeycutt. He was also preceded in death by his brothers; Mike, Edward and Wade Honeycutt.
The family received friends Saturday, April 27, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service will be at Berea Baptist Church on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 4 p.m., officiated by Rev. Keith Austin and Rev. Andy Molatch. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
At other times the family will be meeting at the homeplace.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Frances Ellen Smith Huneycutt; one son, Gary D. Huneycutt and wife Judy; one daughter, Rita Huneycutt Christy; grandchildren, Eric and Felica Christy and Amanda Hatley; great-granddaughter, Kayleigh “Rosebud” Shoe; brothers, Boyd, Hugh, Herman and Dewey Honeycutt; sisters, Mary Smith, Johnsie Helms and Irene Sanders.
