Arlean Hoffner Morgan

RICHFIELD - Arlean Hoffner Morgan, 86, of Richfield, went home to her heavenly father on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009.

Mrs. Morgan was born Jan. 28, 1923, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Challie Lee and Lena Owens Hoffner.

Mrs. Morgan was educated in the Rowan County Schools and Rockwell High School. She was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, a member of the Hazel Trexler Sunday School Class and attended the Golden Age Banquets.

Mrs. Morgan retired in February of 1985 from Cannon Mills Plant # 7.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morgan is also preceded in death by her husband, J. T. Morgan, on June 25, 1994; sisters, Velna Carrick, Jessie Burrage, Blanche Gobble and Annie Lee Hall.

Survivors include a son, Michael Lynn Morgan and wife, Crystal of Richfield; her beloved grandson, Cameron "Cam" Cole Morgan; brothers, Ernest Ray Hoffner and wife, Judy of Gold Hill, Curtis "Bud" Hoffner and wife, Peggy of Salisbury; sisters, Mary Jane Ward of Salisbury, Helen Stiller of Salisbury, Barbara Jean Brown of Richfield, Johnnie Earnhardt and husband, Robert of Richfield and Edna Mahaley and husband, Alfred,of Kernersville; brother-in-law, Floyd "Hoppy" Hall of Salisbury.

Visitation: The family will be at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday and the remainder of the time at Mrs. Morgan's residence.

Service and Burial: Her Legacy of Love, a Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. Gary S. Coble, pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church Family Life Center or to Rowan Regional Hospice.

Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the Morgan family.
