Kathleen Stikeleather Helderman

Gold Hill - Mrs. Kathleen Stikeleather Helderman, 88, of Gold Hill, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007 at Liberty Commons Nursing Center, Salisbury.

Mr. Helderman was born Aug. 23, 1919 in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Lee Stikeleather and Annie Beck Stikeleather.

She was a graduate of Rockwell High School, a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, an avid gardener, life member of Gold Hill United Methodist Church, former organist for the church and formerly made flower arrangements for the church. She was a member of the Liberty Homemakers, former President of the Rockwell PTA and formerly taught crochet and knitting at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

Survivors include husband, Charlie Lentz Helderman, whom she married Sept. 7, 1937; son, Stephen Helderman of Gold Hill; daughters, Ann H. Vaugh of Indianapolis, Ind. and Kay Graham and husband, John, of Salisbury; grandchildren, Sierra Helderman, Genna Helderman & John Graham and great- grandchild, Aaron Graham.

Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Monday at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.

Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gold Hill United Methodist Church, Gold Hill, conducted by Rev. Karen Branch, Pastor and Rev. Billy Ervin, Former Pastor. Burial will follow at the Gold Hill Cemetery.

Memorials: May be made to Gold Hill United Methodist Church.
