Ruth Kirk Needham
Ruth Kirk Needham, age 87, of Knoxville, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Shannondale Healthcare. She was born on April 23, 1925 and was of the Methodist faith.
Ruth worked for Travelers Insurance and McMillan Insurance Agency over a period of 25 years. She was a member of the (former) West Hills Petal Pushers Garden Club where she entered and won several floral arrangement competitions.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, James H. "Jay" Needham, Jr., married 62 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Needham Bailey and husband Steve, Janis Needham Green and husband Ron, of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Mike Bailey, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Christine Bailey Oliver, and Taylor Green, of Houston Texas; step grandchildren, Garfield Green, of San Antonio, Texas, Shane Green, of Austin, Texas; great grandchildren, Brayton Bailey, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; step great grandchildren, Ammi Archer, Tulsa, OK, Jaxson Oliver, Houston, TX, Asher Green, Austin, TX, Emma, Garfield III, Elizabeth, Shepherd, and Westley Green, all of San Antonio, TX.
The family wished to give a special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sellers of Knoxville and the Staff and Nurses at Shannondale Healthcare.
Graveside service 2:00 pm Sunday at Highland Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Frank Sellers officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
