Sherry Dianna Baucom Honrine, 57, of Charlotte, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 at Atrium Health in Pineville.
Sherry was born June 1, 1963 in Charlotte to James Atlas Baucom and Shirley Christene Petrea Baucom of Stanfield. In addition to her parents, Sherry is survived by her husband, Jeff Honrine; son, Michael Honrine; sister, Debbie Love, and her husband Alan; and nephews Mark and David.
Sherry was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte. After graduating from UNCC in 1985 with her bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sherry went on to work for 30+ years in banking. Sherry never met a stranger. She was outgoing and kind to everyone she met, and she was selfless in her putting of others before herself. She was a breast cancer survivor, and she fought through every challenge thrown her way with perseverance and faith. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life such as playing board games with her family and taking day trips up to the mountains. The beautiful jewelry she created for years serves as an example of her creative side being put on display. Sherry also became a “classroom mom” around her son’s school, dedicating many hours of time to help her son and his teachers in any way possible. Most of all, Sherry was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She will be dearly missed and forever loved.
Sherry will lie-in-state at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 10:45 am, Friday, March 26, 2021 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church of Charlotte in the worship center. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. John Harrill. Burial will follow at First Baptist Church of Locust Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
