Mae Cato Cline

SALISBURY - Mrs. Mae Cato Cline, 89, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012, at Genesis Nursing Center.

Born Dec. 6, 1922, in Meridian, Miss., Mrs. Cline was the daughter of the late Lucy Baynes Cato and Grover Henry Cato.

Mrs. Cline was educated in the city schools of Concord and was a homemaker. She was a member of Maupin Avenue Presbyterian Church and the Spencer Chapter of the Eastern Star.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Melvin "Buck" G. Cline, to whom she was married July 20, 1940; brother L.F. Cato; sister Willie Ruth Morgan; and granddaughter Melissa B. Britt.

Those left to cherish her memory are son Melvin "Bucky" Cline and wife Ann of Salisbury; daughter Judy Harrelson and husband Truett of Mint Hill; sister Louise Cohen of West Virginia; grandchildren Michael Barker and wife Megan, David Barker and wife Tammy, Chris Cline, Lowry Cline; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation and Service: Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 6 at Summersett Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 6 in the Summersett Memorial Chapel with entombment following at Rowan Memorial Park with Rev. Randy Foster officiating.

Memorials: May be made to Maupin Avenue Presbyterian Church, 100 Maupin Ave., Salisbury, NC.

Summersett Funeral Home is serving the Cline family.
