Brenda Stoner
Brenda Sue Stoner, 79, of Kannapolis, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Best of Care Assisted Living in Kannapolis, NC after a long brave battle with Alzheimer's.
She was born May 7, 1944 in McDowell County, NC to the late John Lawrence Robinson and Ann Phillips Robinson. She was a 1962 graduate of East Rowan High School. Brenda also earned several certificates from Rowan Cabarrus Community College.
Brenda worked as a Controller for Rowan Cabarrus Community College for 33 years until she retired. Brenda loved spending time with her grandchildren, enjoyed reading and trips to the North Carolina mountains. She also enjoyed helping others in financial need, with a passion for single mothers.
Brenda is survived by her husband Hugh Graham, daughter, Talitha (Phil) Lowman; two grandsons, Austin Hayes of Denver, CO, Travis (Lauren) Hayes of Brevard; step-granddaughters, Kelly (Todd) Kirk of Richfield and Lyndsay (Allen) Tomlinson of Gold Hill and 5 great grandchildren Bexton, Wyatt, Tucker, Morgan and Tanner. She is also survived by sisters, Pat (Gene) Kepley of Salisbury and Norma Stafford of The Villages in Florida and nephew, Billie (Tonya) Kepley, niece, Melissa (Phil) York and niece Brenda Zimmerman.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 15 from 2:00 PM until 3:15 PM at First Reformed Church of Landis.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 15 at 3:30 PM at First Reformed Church of Landis with Pastor David Franks officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Park Road, Charlotte, or Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis.
