She worked as a waitress in her early years in several local restaurants. She later worked at the N.C. Lutheran Home in Salisbury in the housekeeping department. She retired from there after 20 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin "Monk" Bean, Donald Bean, Everet Bean, David "Pinto" Bean and Leo Bean. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Katherine Efird and Rachel Hart.

She is survived by her son, Terry Jacobs, and his wife Denise, with whom she lived for the past several years.

She loved family gatherings and spending time with her many nieces and nephews. She also loved being around children and petting the many dogs that are always in and out of her son's home.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am on Monday November 27, 2023, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church at 9275 Bringle Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC. Service will begin at 11:00am with the Rev.
