Tuesay, November 9, 2010 — George Edward ‘Bucky’ Shaver, age 75, of Oakboro, N.C., passed away on November 6, 2010 at his residence.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2010 at Hartsell Funeral Home – Albemarle.
Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Fellowship Baptist Church with a 30 minute state. Pastor David Howard officiated and burial followed at Stanly Gardens of Memory. At other times the family will be meeting at the home.
He was born in Stanly County on September 21, 1935 to the late Lonnie Green and Lula Eve Lefler Shaver.
Mr. Shaver is survived by his wife, Mildred Shaver of the home; three sons, Greg Shaver and wife Teresa of Locust, Rick Shaver and wife Doris of Albemarle, and Clark Shaver of Oakboro; two daughters, Monica Howard and husband Sidney of Woodrun, and Natalie Wagoner and husband William of Gold Hill; one brother, Buddie Shaver of Maysville, Ga.; and one sister, Margie Culp of Norwood; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, or Hospice of Stanly County.
