Betty Conley Lyerly Willis
Betty Jane Conley Lyerly Willis, formerly of Mt. Airy, passed away on December 28, 2023, at the age of 87.
She was born on July 22, 1936, in Cleveland County to the late Bessie Lee Spake and Hugh Grady Conley.
Betty was educated at Shelby High School and Appalachia State University. She retired as a consumer education representative for Duke Energy after 30 years. Betty would also fill in for WBTV Betty Feezor Show when she was out. She and her first husband Wilford formed the Let’s Go Travel Agency, traveling to the Holy Land over 7 times, and was very active in the Lions Clubs. Betty volunteered at the Northern Surry Hospital and was a member of the St. Andrews Lutheran Church.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband Rev. Dr. J. Wilford Lyerly and her second husband Mack Willis.
Left to cherish her memory are her surviving cousins.
There will be a graveside service at 2:00 pm Thursday January 4, 2024, at Christiana Lutheran Church Cemetery, 6190 US-52, Salisbury, NC 28146. Officiating will be Rev. Rosa Erickson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Mt. Airy, 1401 Fancy Gap Rd, Mt Airy, NC.
