Helena Renee Whitley, 37, of Locust passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at her home. Her funeral service will be Wednesday, June 7, 2023 4:00PM at New Life Church in Locust with Rev. Brandon Bowers officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Locust.
Born February 1, 1986 in Cabarrus County, NC, she was the daughter of Stanley Whitley and Julia Bowers Whitley. She was employed as a caregiver and was a member of New Life Church in Locust. She loved reading and taking care of both others and animals.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother Casey Whitley (Jerika) of Oakboro and sister Hannah Spaulding (Jeremy) of Georgeville, NC, as well as two nephews Brantly Spaulding and Vaylor Whitley.
The family requests that memorials be made to the NC Special Olympics.
