SALISBURY - Mr. James "Jim" Eugene Sides, 65 of Salisbury, died July 4, 2005 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.
Born Feb. 23, 1941 in Rowan County to the late Luther Daniel & Mary Morgan Sides. He attended Rockwell High School and obtained his GED from Catawba College. Mr. Sides had owned & operated Jim 's B-B-Q in Salisbury for many years. Mr. Sides was of the Baptist Faith and had attended many churches in the area. A former member of the Spencer Moose Lodge he was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include wife Patricia Seaford Sides, married, Dec. 21, 1958; son James "Blake" Sides of Woodleaf; daughters Leticia "Tisha" S. Brown and husband Dennis Brown, Gold Hill, Jamie S. Artz and husband Dave Artz, Salisbury; grandchildren Hannah & Sarah Brown, Gold Hill, and Joshua & Elizabeth Sides, Mocksville, Angela Coody, Landis, great grandchild Alli Coody, Landis; brothers Irvin Sides, Gold Hill, Dan Sides, Salisbury, Gilbert Sides, Thomasville, Glenn Sides, Durham, Dewey Sides, Salisbury; sisters; Dellie Miller, Salisbury, Louise Hellard, Salisbury, Sue Clark, Sanford.
Funeral Services: 12:00 Noon Friday, July 8, 2005 at Powles Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Ray Johnson, Pastor of High Rock Community Church.
Visitation: 11:00 a.m.-12:00 Noon Friday, July, 8, 2005 at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell, and the remainder of the time at the home of daughter, Leticia "Tisha" S. Brown, 11690 Stokes Ferry Road.
Entombment at Brookhill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Rockwell.
