Albertina Pitkin Jerome

Albertina Pitkin Jerome, a former director of volunteers for the Visiting Nurse Service in New York City, died Sunday at a nursing home in Schenectady, N.Y. She was 91 years old.

Mrs. Jerome, who had long been active in civic affairs in Schenectady, was a graduate of Vassar College and also studied at the Parsons School of Design.

During World War II, she became a designer for the Sperry Gyroscope Corporation. She received an award from the Navy for her work on ordnance development.

While with the Visiting Nurse Service in the 1950's and 60's, she was also active in the League of Women Voters and the American Red Cross.

Mrs. Jerome is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Dougherty of New York City, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
