Roy Nathan Brown

Roy Nathan Brown, 79, of Salisbury, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, surrounded by family. He was born on May 18, 1938 on Rowan County to the late Willie Nathan Brown and Rosie Spry Brown.

Roy was of the Baptist faith and worked as a Mechanic Specialist for Carolina Tractor and Equipment. He could fix anything and he loved to work on cars, motorcycles, scooters, and anything with an engine. Roy was also a talented gunsmith and would go shooting with his brother Barry. In his free time Roy also enjoyed traveling to the beach and mountains with his family. 

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael "Mike" Jason Brown. 

Roy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Waller Brown; three sons, Bobby Nathaniel Brown of Salisbury, Roy Nathan Brown, Jr, of Salisbury, and Ronnie Michael Brown of Salisbury; three granddaughters, Christian Carol Brown, Angela Christine Brown, and Michelle Brown War; three grandsons, Brian Nathan Brown, Brandon William Brown, and Devin Duran Brown; four great-grandsons, Matthew Brown, Nathan Brown, Johnny Brown, and Aiden; one great-granddaughter, Brianna Honeycutt; three brothers, Barry Brown of Salisbury, Chris Brown of Rockwell, and Timothy Brown of Salisbury; and two sisters, Geraldine (Henry) Elliott of Salisbury, and Tamera Brown of NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

The Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 13, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Genesis Baptist Church (9710 Old Concord Rd., Salisbury, NC). The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM following the visitation at the church, conducted by Pastor Gene Edwards. Burial will take place at Brookhill Memorial Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Genesis Baptist Church - Building Fund.
