Roberta Honeycutt "Bert" Ragan
Roberta Honeycutt "Bert" Ragan, 90, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully, at home, Wednesday, March 2, 2022, with family by her side.
She was born July 28, 1931, in Rowan County, to the late Jasper Clay Honeycutt and Margaret Ludwick Honeycutt. Mrs. Ragan attended Boyden High School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Rockwell, where she was a member of the Senior Citizens Group and active with her Sunday School Class. She was an early employee of Food Town, helping to open the first store in Salisbury and subsequently helped in opening more than 20 additional stores as the company grew. Mrs. Ragan later worked for and retired from General Electric.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ragan was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Lee Ragan, Sr., whom she married, January 26, 1951; grandson, Zachary Lee Ragan; brothers, David Honeycutt and his wife, Kathy and Buddy Honeycutt and his wife, Lib; and sisters, Nolie Ann Myers and her husband, Cody and Violet Leigh Eagle and her husband, Claude.
She is survived by her son, Otis Lee Ragan, Jr. and his wife, LeighAnne, of Gold Hill.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 12, in First Baptist Church of Rockwell's Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Laughter officiating.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Rockwell.
