Lula Mae Caskey Barbee
Sunday, July 1, 2007 -- Mrs. Lula Mae Caskey Barbee, 92, of Mt. Pleasant died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at Northeast Medical Center. She had surgery on Wednesday for a broken hip she sustained in a fall Tuesday.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Rocky Ridge United Methodist Church, conducted by The Rev. Charles Guy; burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 4-5:30pm Saturday afternoon at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
Lula Mae was born Sept. 16, 1914 in Gold Hill, daughter of the late Lillie Frances Morgan Dry and George Dry. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gordon Caskey and Lewis Barbee. She resided in Concord until August 2003 and has since divided her time with her two daughters and their husbands, Sharon and Darrell Sides of Badin and Phyllis and Ravon Harkey of Mt. Pleasant.
In addition to her two daughters she is survived by a sister, Pauline Lisenby of Concord, two granddaughters and their husbands, Alison and Jason Ballard of Kannapolis and Karen and Keith Helms of Mt. Pleasant and two great grandchildren, Leah Ballard and Sawyer Helms.
Memorials may be directed to Coltrane Life Center, 321 Corban Ave. SE, Concord, NC, or Rocky Ridge United Methodist Church, 1428 Old Charlotte Rd SW, Concord, NC.
