KANNAPOLIS - Shirley James Furr, 78, of Kannapolis, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Memorial Regional Medical Center, Richmond, Va.
Mrs Furr was born on Jan. 4, 1936. She was preceded in death by her husband, Venice (Benny) Furr.
She is survived by her brother, Jessie Wade James; two sisters, Phyllis Galliher and Jean Almond; two daughters, Debbie Childress (David) of Ruther Glen,Va., and Melissa Lowder (Scot) of Kannapolis; grandchildren David Childress, Derek Childress, Daniel Childress and Avery Lowder; great-grandchildren Kayleigh Childress, Savannah Childress, Dustin Childress and Delaney Childress.
Mrs. Furr retired from Fieldcrest Cannon Mills and also worked as a CNA at Big Elm Retirement Center.
Service: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 6 at Bethany Bible Church, 623 N. Juniper Ave., Kannapolis, NC. The Rev. Bobby Sutherland will officiate.
Memorials: May be made to Bethany Bible Church, 623 N. Juniper Ave., Kannapolis, NC.
