Notes for Jimmy Ray Reavis
Jimmy Ray Reavis

Jimmy Ray Reavis, 74, passed away November 19 after a lengthy illness of Parkinson's Disease. He was preceded in death by his parents, Notley Parks Reavis and Mary Gray Reavis, four brothers and a sister. Jimmy is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Patricia Head Reavis, of 49 years.

He graduated from Boyden High School, was employed at Cartex Mills until the plant closed and retired from Rowan Regional Hospital.

One of his great joys in life was being a part of the spiritual family at Emmanuel Baptist Church. As a devout life time member, he sang in the choir, served as deacon, attended Men's Group and Bible study and participated in social events. He participated in activities at Rufty Holmes Senior Center and John Calvin Lunch Club, enjoying the friendship.

Left to remember a life well lived are Hazel Marie Sofley, mother-in-law and family of Andrew and Laura Head and Jerry and Martha Sofley.

A graveside service for family will be held at Brookhill Memorial Gardens with Pastor Dale Kinley officiating; he will also conduct a Celebration of Life at Emmanuel Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2300 Bringle Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC.

Powles Staton Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the Reavis family.
