Curtis Nelson Barringer Sr., 71, of 2033 Charleston Road, SE, Orangeburg, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Blake Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 30, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg.
Pallbearers will be Casey Barringer, Johnathan Pendergraft, Johnathan Barnwell, David Coleman, Alvin Edgemon, Michael Pendergraft and Kelly Fischer.
Mr. Barringer was born Feb. 18, 1933, in Salisbury, N.C., a son of the late Fred Barringer and Mary Bell Eagle Barringer. He was a retired maintenance manager from Greenwood Mills. He served in the U.S. Army and the 82nd Airborne.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Tovie F. Barringer of Orangeburg; two sons, Curtis N. Barringer Jr. and Gary "Duge" Barringer, both of Orangeburg; one daughter, Kathy B. Judy of Orangeburg; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one brother, Steve Barringer of Gibsonville, N.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the residence and at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
