Gathy Ella Blake Poole, 86, of Norwood, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021 at Atrium Health Stanly.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church. Rev. Billy Glover will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemtery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
Mrs. Poole was born on July 9, 1935 in Montgomery County to the late Herbert and Opal Mae Frick Blake. She worked for many years as a housekeeper at Evans Rest Home and was a member at Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Pauline McCormick, Betty Erntz, Maxine Blake, Max Blake, Junior Blake, Frank Blake, and James Blake.
She is survived by her husband, Ed Poole of the home; two brothers: Alvin Blake and Kenneth Blake; three sisters: Carol Wright, Linda Lemenski, and Ann Sasser; one step-son and two step daughter; 11 step-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren.
