MOREHEAD - Garry Lee Lanham II, 23, of Wilmington, N.C, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born April 8, 1983, in Morehead, Kentucky, he is the son of Garry Lee and Terina Lanham of Morehead and Susan and Terry Underwood of New London, North Carolina. Other survivors include his grandparents, R. C. and Phyllis Furr of Albemarle, North Carolina; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Christa and Gary Burchfield II of Lexington, Kentucky, and Angela and Patrick Muncy of Louisville, Kentucky; one brother, Daniel Underwood of New London, North Carolina; one stepbrother, Malcolm Fultz of Morehead, Kentucky, and three nephews, Jacob, Justin, and Isaac Muncy.
Garry Lee was a graduate of North Stanley High School in New London, North Carolina, and was pursuing a degree in law enforcement at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, North Carolina. He played soccer in both high school and college and was currently a member of the Cape Fear Sea Devils. He loved the ocean, especially surfing.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2006, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with the Rev. Lloyd Dean officiating; burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Underwood, Malcolm Fultz, Gary Burchfield II, Patrick Muncy, Derek Lewis, Adam Day, and James Damron.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2006, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
