Patsy Sue Eller Shepherd

Patsy Sue Eller Shepherd, 82, of Salisbury passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at her residence.

Born in Rowan County on May 30, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Myrtle Iddings and William Bryant Eller.

Mrs. Shepherd was in the first graduating class at North Rowan High School in 1959. She graduated from Appalachian State Teachers College and went on to work at Calvin H. Wiley School for three years and North Hills Christian School for 29 years. She loved Jesus Christ and was a member of Trading Ford Baptist Church where she served on many church committees. She taught Sunday School and Bible School for over 50 years and led the Joy Club for 16 years. She enjoyed being with her family and spending time at her vacation home in Lake Placid, FL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ray Shepherd, Sr.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ernest Ray Shepherd, Jr. (Sarah) of Lincolnton, NC; daughters, Cher Shue (Greg) of Salisbury, NC and Kari Shepherd of Salisbury, NC; brother, Larry Eller (Chris) of Belmont, NC; grandchildren, Brett Shepherd, Brandon Shepherd, Garrett Shue, Alyssa Allison, Noah Shepherd, Jason Bell, Jr., Nathan Belardino, and Ethan Bell; great-grandchildren, Slade Shepherd, Jacob Shepherd, Cooper Shepherd, and Kaden Allison. She is also survived by her beloved cat, “Bootsie”.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:45 pm on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Trading Ford Baptist Church. Service will begin at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Mike Motley officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank caregivers, Ellen Stamper, Jennifer Trexler, and Hannah Long for the wonderful care they provided to their parents.
