Elton Leroy Harleson
Elton Leroy Harleson, age 73 of 28003 Parker Rd., Albemarle, went to be with his lord and savior for Christmas, December 24, 2010.
The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, on Tuesday from 6 to 8. At other times they will meet at the home of his brother Terry and wife Brenda, 28037 Parker Road, Albemarle.
The funeral will be in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel on Wednesday at 2 PM. Rev. Rex Burleson will officiate and interment will be in Canton Baptist Church Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Stanly County DAV, Chapter 12.
He graduated from Endy High School in 1955 and attended Pfeiffer College. He served in the US Navy from 1956 to 1960 and was retired from E.J. Snyder.
Born in Cumberland County, NC on September 24, 1937, he was a son of the late Richard Grover Harleson and the late Flora Bell Burleson Harleson.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
He is survived by his sisters; Ricardia "Ricky" Wilson and husband Robert of Albemarle and Anne Strietlmeier and husband Warren of Linton, Indiana; brothers Richard G. Harleson, Jr. and wife Patsy and Terry Harleson, Sr. and wife Brenda all of Albemarle; 13 nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews.
