FORT MILL -- Mr. Harleson, age 62, of 925 Camp Cox Circle, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2004 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church on Hwy. 160 in Fort Mill, with the Rev. Rex Burleson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Wolfe Funeral Home, 314 Spratt Street, Fort Mill.
Born March 7, 1942 in Cumberland County, NC, Mr. Harleson was the son of the late Richard Gomelion Harleson and Flora Burleson Harleson. He graduated from Endy High School in Albemarle, NC, and was a 1960 alternate to West Point. Mr. Harleson retired from Celanese after 36 years of employment. He enjoyed bird watching and the outdoors. He was a US Navy veteran.
Survivors are his wife, Jackie Harleson of Fort Mill; his son, Tim Harleson of Lubbock, TX; his daughter, Kenza Rembert of Fort Mill; two grandchildren, Austin Harleson and Amy Harleson, both of Lubbock, TX; three brothers, Leroy Harleson and Terry Harleson, both of Albemarle NC, and Richard Harleson, Jr. of New London, NC; and two sisters, Ricky Wilson of Albemarle and Anne Brown of Linton, IN.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lancaster, 902 West Meeting Street, Lancaster, SC.
Wolfe Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Harleson.
