Notes for Betty Ann Iddings
Betsy Iddings Morgan Kerr

Betsy Iddings Morgan Kerr, 88 3/4, of Salisbury, passed away (according to God's schedule), Friday, June 1, 2018 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, surrounded by friends and family.

Born August 23, 1929 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Treva Leonard Iddings and William "Bill" Ross Iddings. She graduated from East Spencer High School in 1946, where she excelled in basketball. She worked at N. C. Finishing Company for several years and later for many years at Electric Wholesale.

Betsy was a member of Bethel Methodist Church and sang in its choir.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel Nelson Morgan, one brother and sister-in-law, Donald Ray Iddings and Doris Girdler Iddings, a daughter-in-law, Anna Lore Morgan, and a grandson, Christopher Todd Morgan.

Betsy always lived a very full, active life and lifestyle, and anyone who knew her would agree that everything ran pretty much on her schedule. In addition to being a loving wife and caring mother of three "wild younguns", her athletic abilities never ceased to amaze her family and friends. She was a great water skier, championship-level bowler, raced micro midget cars on the dirt tracks around Rowan County in the late 50s and early 60s, and also had a beautiful voice. However, her passion was dancing. She was an avid "shagger" and line dancer and could dance most people half her age under the table. Her many talents and flashing smile will be sorely missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Clifford Wilson Kerr, whom she married on January 6, 1962, her three sons -- Samuel Nelson Morgan, Jr. and his wife Sherry West Morgan; David Ross Morgan; and, Kevin Scott Kerr and his wife Tonya Evans Kerr. She is also survived by her grandchildren -- Billy Morgan and his wife Chalonaze; Drew Morgan and his wife Crystal; Austin Kerr; Abby Kerr; Lauren West; and, Kenneth West, Jr.; and, two great grandsons, Cameron Morgan and Ethan Morgan.

Service: A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Summersett Funeral Home, followed by burial at Rowan Memorial Park.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from noon. to 2 p.m. prior to the service at Summersett. Betsy has requested that you wear something casual, comfortable, colorful and/or tropical -- no suits, ties, or high heels.

Memorials: Memorials in memory of Betsy can be made to Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House of Salisbury.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the skilled staff and caregivers at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House of Salisbury. Although she lived there for a short time, the compassion and support displayed by the staff will never be forgotten.

Summersett Funeral Home is serving the Kerr/Morgan family.

Betsy's love, love for life, joy, faithfulness, and service to the Lord were an inspiration to all who knew her. What a woman, indeed!!
