Leavy Spurgeon “Lee” Eudy

Leavy Spurgeon (Lee) Eudy, age 71, of Canton went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, July 4, 2000 in Country Lawn Nursing Home, Navarre, following an extended illness.

Born in Salisbury, NC, April 9, 1929 to his parents the late Daniel and Elizabeth Eudy, he has been a resident of the Canton area for the past fifty years.

He attended Ashland College and Kent State. Mr Eudy was a retired employee of Ford Motor Co retiring in 1987 after 35 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Gospel Temple, was trustee, Vice President and President of Local #542 UAW Union, veteran of World War II, having served in the US Navy. Mr Eudy was an avid hunter, fisherman, and guitar player.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ravon, Hoyle, and Daniel Eudy and Loyd Burgess; two sisters, Nellie Murphy and Oliene Weber.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Juanita (Mayle) Eudy of the home, three sons and daughter-in-law, Leavy Spurgeon Eudy II and Martha of Canton, Daniel Craig Eudy and Chad Lee Eudy, both of Canton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and B Newman of Johnston, TN, Glenda and John McKelley of Canton; two brothers, Henry Thomas Eudy of South Carolina and Irvin Eudy of North Carolina; nine grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also surviving.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday 11 am in Trinity Gospel Temple, 1612 Tuscarawas Street West, Canton, with Rev David Lombardi officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home Thursday (Tonight) 6-9 om and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church 10-11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Gospel Temple.
