Notes for Geraldine Ann “Deanie” Furr
Geraldine Furr Fink

On Friday, April 30, 2021, Geraldine Ann Furr Fink passed away at the age of 74 surrounded by family within her home. She was a beloved wife, mother, Maw Maw, and friend to all. Geraldine, most commonly referred to as Deanie, was born on April 25, 1947 to Roy and Evelyn Furr. She was the oldest of 8 siblings and loved each one of them dearly. On July 10, 1965, she married the love of her life, Clarence “Bub” Fink. Her love and care for him was without measure. They spent their life together giving constantly to others, while also raising their two daughters, Christy and Cheri.

Geraldine had a mission in life, and that was to faithfully serve God. Christ magnified within her, and she spread God’s word to all around her. She had a servant’s heart, and she spread the most sincere joy to all around her. She will always be remembered for her infectious smile, her contagious laugh, her warmth, her energy, her stories, her love for life, family and friends, her students, colleagues, and her passion for Christ.

Geraldine is survived and lovingly remembered by her loving husband, Clarence Ronald Fink, of 55 years. Geraldine is also lovingly remembered by her daughters, Christy Fink Eudy (Jody) of Mount Pleasant, and Cheri Fink Hopkins (Matthew) of Concord; grandchildren: Joshua Cameron Eudy, Adam Lane Eudy, Shawn Christopher Hopkins, and Taylor Averette Foley; siblings: Ronald Dale Furr (Jane) of Oakboro, and Carolyn Furr Torrence (Rick) of Stanfield; sisters-in-laws, Vivian Love Furr (Tommy) of Stanfield, and Kathy Kenley Furr (Larry) of Stanfield; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Geraldine is predeceased by her loving parents, Roy Wilson Furr and Evelyn Beatrice Furr; and her siblings: Shirley Furr Eudy, Kenneth Wilson Furr, Tommy Allen Furr, Curtis Lee Furr, and Larry Wayne Furr.

Geraldine left detailed instructions for her family to celebrate her mission in life, which has now been completed. We invite you to join us and celebrate together. Geraldine’s Life Celebration will take place on Wednesday, May 5th, 2021, at 4 p.m., at Bethel Baptist Church of Locust. The service will be officiated by Pastor Brian Bolding and Dr. William F. Nix.
