Notes for Bobby Lee Wagoner
Bobby Lee Wagoner

Bobby Lee Wagoner, 74, of Salisbury passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Atrium Health in Concord, NC.

Born in Rowan County on October 19, 1948. He was the son of the late Lee Van and Lena Troutman Wagoner.

A football star and graduate of East Rowan High School, Bobby retired from Philip Morris. He was a member of the National Guard Reserves, Mason of Andrew Jackson Lodge 576, AMVETS Post 845, American Legion Post 342, Rowan County Military Honor Guard, Civitans, GARS, and a fellow of the Victory Junction Camp.

Bobby loved working on cars and even raced quarter midget cars when he was younger. With a garage full of tools he was always fixing something. He loved NASCAR, playing golf and softball, but most of all loved Miller Lite at the Friendly Bar.

In his retirement, Bobby and his wife of 24 years Aleta “Lee” spent time traveling and volunteering in the community.

A man who never met a stranger, his stories and memory will live on through those that knew him.

In addition to his wife Lee, those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Nancy Wagoner of Salisbury, his daughters Shanna Wagoner of High Point, Amy Wagoner of Salisbury, Jacqui Warner of Lake of the Ozarks, and Michelle Hill (Andy), also of Salisbury. He is also survived by grandchildren Caleb Wagoner, Briana Peacock, Victoria Holshouser, Julia Holshouser, and two great-grandchildren.

As per Bobby’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.

Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics or the Boys and Girls Home Lake Waccamaw.

Lyerly Funeral Home is serving the Wagoner family.
