Notes for Peggy Ramell Kirk
Peggy Kirk Miller

Peggy Kirk Miller went to be with her Lord and Maker on Monday February 18, 2019. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, February 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Beck’s Reformed Church with Pastor Ben Greene and Pastor Steve Regan officiating. Family visitation will be held before the service from 1:00 to 2:00 in the church sanctuary and other times at the home.

Peggy was born June 19, 1930 to the late Cecil and Kate Kirk of Lexington, North Carolina. She married her high school sweetheart, James Leon Miller, who has remained the love of her life for over seventy years. Both have remained strong as life circumstances changed. As health issues developed, they supported each other while continuing to share their optimistic attitude. Their infectious quick wit and laughter has always been shared by family and friends.

Peggy was a member of the Willing Worker’s Sunday School Class, a past member of the church choir and always enjoyed the many poor man’s dinners and exciting trips with the Senior Citizens of Beck’s Church. Her passions as a homemaker included gardening, both flowers and vegetables, canning, quilting, sewing, cooking and especially baking wonderful desserts which is a staple in their home.

Children have always been a part of Peggy and Leon’s life. Their fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren have enjoyed hands-on experiences with Peggy and Leon. Playing in the garden and harvesting vegetables, picking and eating various berries, and feeding the birds are a common occurrence when visiting Mamaw and Papaw Miller.

Peggy is preceded in death by her brother, James Kirk, and a great grandson, Beau Stanley.
