Lectie Ellen Hatley Collins
LOCUST - Lectie Ellen Hatley Collins, 90, of 12617 Barrier Store Road, Locust, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at CMC-NorthEast. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be 4 p.m. Thursday, at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Locust, with Pastor Eddie Fowler and Dr. Ronny Russell officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Collins was born Aug. 11, 1918, in Stanly County, the daughter of the late William Hastings Hatley and the late Mary Jane (Harwood) Hatley. She was a homemaker and a member of Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Collins.
Survivors include her daughters, Kay (C.) Eudy and husband, Michael, of Locust and Judy (C.) Chynoweth and husband, David, of Naples, Fla. and granddaughter, Carolyn Chynoweth.
The family will meet at the home.
Memorials may be made to Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church, in care of Tim Herrin, 3219 Baucom Manor Road, Monroe, NC; and Ridgecrest Volunteer Fire Department, 24792 Millingport Road, Locust, NC.
