John Allen “Johnny” Hammill
Mr. John "Johnny" Allen Hammill, Jr, 70 of Gold Hill, NC passed away on January 17, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Hammill was born on March 26, 1945 in Stanly County, son of the late John Allen Hammill, Sr. and Ruth Goodman Hammill.
Mr. Hammill was a 1963 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and also graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a degree in Business and Economics. He was owner operator of H & M Wood Preserving and Hammill Farms, a Black Angus Cattle Farm.
Mr. Hammill was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and he was also a member of the American Angus Association.
He loved farming, family, and watching his granddaughters play softball.
Mr. Hammill is survived by his wife Becky Barnard Hammill, whom he married April 5, 1969, son Allen Hammill and wife Jamie, granddaughters Sara Hammill and Emily Ruth Hammill. And also by his brother Bobby Gene Hammill, Sr. and wife Lynda of Kings Mountain, NC and family and close friends, Robert Cairns, Sandy and Billy Gilmore, Kay and Steve Smith and Doris and Jerry Eudy.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Hammill Farms Show Barn, 12777 Old Mine Road, Gold Hill, NC 28071 on Tuesday at 3:00 PM conducted by Pastor Jimmie H. Melton, CRE.
The family has requested no flowers, donations may be made to NC Lady Tigers Fastpitch Association, 121 Lentz Harness Shop Road North, Mt. Pleasant , NC 28124.
