James Edward Earnhardt, 89, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 in his home.
His funeral service will be 11 AM Wednesday in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the Canton Baptist Church Cemetery with full military rites by the Stanly County DAV Ritual Team. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Stanly Funeral Home.
Born July 26, 1925 in Stanly County, NC he was a retired employee of the State of NC Dept. of Transportation. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a Veteran of the US Navy, WWII.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Sue Hatley Earnhardt in 1992.
Survivors include sons James Nelson Earnhardt and wife Tracy of Stanfield, Terrance L. Earnhardt and wife Angie of Albemarle, and Jeffrey Darin Earnhardt and wife Michelle of Richfield, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
