Johnny White Ridenhour

Johnny White Ridenhour, 56, of Salisbury passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2015 at his home. Born Sept. 9, 1959 in Rowan County, he was the son of Louise Heglar of Salisbury and the late Charles White Ridenhour and Dot Hardin Ridenhour.

Johnny enjoyed drag racing, spending time with his children, grandchildren and dogs. He also enjoyed witnessing to the homeless.

Mr. Ridenhour graduated from South Rowan High School. He was an electrician by trade and was employed by Cone Mills for 25 years and in 2000 he started Ridenhour Electric Co.

In addition to his father and step-mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal uncles, Don Ridenhour and Jim Ridenhour; his maternal uncle, J. B. Heglar; and father-in-law, Clint Kesler.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dawn Kesler Ridenhour; daughters, Carmen Correll of Denver, Morgan Jones and husband David, Sydney Ridenhour and Bailey Ridenhour, all of Salisbury; sisters, Patti Curlee of China Grove and Kathy Watts of New Jersey; brothers, Jim Whitley and wife Karen and David Whitley and wife Jan, all of China Grove; grandchildren, Joe Jones, Jaydon Jones, Mason Correll and Haydon Correll; paternal aunts Alice Williams and Alma Johnson; maternal aunts and uncle, Joyce Risden, Barbara Johnson and Bill Heglar; mother-in-law, Carolyn Kesler; sister-in-law, Donna Wilkins; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at the Summersett Funeral Home.

Service: A Memorial Service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at the Summersett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don Vess officiating.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, or Rowan Felay For Life.

Summersett Funeral Home is assisting the Ridenhour family.
