Henry "Blane" Tucker, 78 of 120 Bethel Church Road, Oakboro, NC passed away on August 22, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle, NC.
The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Wednesday, August 24 from 6pm until 8pm. At other times, the family will meet at his home.
The funeral service will be at Red Cross Baptist Church on Thursday, August 25 at 2pm, officiated by Rev. Marvin Honeycutt, Rev. Charlie Littlejohn, and interim pastor, Yates Brooks. Burial will follow in the Red Cross Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Tucker was born in Stanly County, on February 19, 1933, to the late Paul Homer Tucker and the late Rosie Mae Burris Tucker. He is also preceded in death by his son, Roger Blane Tucker.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rachel Louise Whitley Tucker, of the home; son, Rick Tucker and wife Heather of Oakboro; daughter, Linda T. Douglas of Oakboro; brothers, Harvey Tucker of Wadesboro, JR Tucker of Stanfield; sister, Mary Bustle of GA; grandchildren, Gina Douglas, Kip Tucker, Kristi Thompson, Nikki Tucker, Erika Tucker, Derek Tucker and Jodi Tucker; great-grandchildren, Emma Lee, Evan Allison, Dillen Allison, and Ella Thompson.
Mr. Tucker was a car salesman and a new cars sales manager at Confederate Motors for 24 years and was a member of Red Cross Baptist Church.
