James Cordell
James Cordell, 82, of Rockwell, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.
He was born January 30, 1941 in Haywood County, NC to the late Thomas Franklin Cordell and Kathleen Shipman Cordell.
James worked as a Supervisor for The North Carolina Finishing Company and attended Nazareth Community Church.
James loved his family and also enjoyed his honey bees, cows, chickens and bailing hay. He also enjoyed fishing at the coast and was a mountain man.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Ruby Sue Kesler Cordell, son, Tommy Cordell and his daughter in-law Elizabeth Cordell.
He is survived by his four sons, Martin (Dinah) Cordell, Adam Cordell, Chad (Erin) Cordell, Dusty (Alyssa) Cordell and his daughter, Crystal (Duane) Swicegood; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday, March 2, 2023, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Nazareth Community Church, Rockwell, NC.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 2, 2023, in the Nazareth Community Church, Rockwell, NC, with Pastor Mike Shoaf officiating.
Burial will take place in the Brookhill Memorial Gardens following the service.
