Roger Wayne Layton, 64, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020 at his home.
Roger was born October 16, 1955 in Stanly County to the late J.D. Layton and Jennie Smith Layton. He was also preceded in death by brothers; J.R. Laton and Don Layton.
Roger will lie in state from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Hartsell Funeral Homes of Albemarle. A graveside service will be on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Fairview Memorial Park, 1425 East W Main St, Albemarle, officiated by Pastor Steve Barbee.
Roger was an outdoorsman who had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and beach trips with the family. He spent time learning the Word of God and also loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include wife, Teresa Layton; daughters, Jennifer Layton (Kirt Brace) and Amanda Hardy (Matt); grandsons; Rhys Brace, Tilden and Asa Hardy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gleaning Mission Church, Oakboro NC.
